On February 3, 2025, President Bola Tinubu swore in eight new permanent secretaries and 21 commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) at a ceremony in the State House, Abuja.
This event occurred before the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of the year.
The new permanent secretaries, representing various Nigerian states, include Onwusoro Ihemelandu (Abia), Ndiomu Philip (Bayelsa), and Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu), among others.
Additionally, 21 new RMAFC commissioners, confirmed by the Senate in August 2024, were sworn in, representing states such as Abia, Akwa Ibom, and Lagos. Tinubu also swore in members for the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and the National Population Commission (NPC).
In his speech, President Tinubu urged the appointees to demonstrate dedication, innovation, and commitment to advancing the government’s agenda.
The ceremony was followed by the FEC meeting, where a minute of silence was observed for former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, who passed away on January 23, 2025. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
