Juventus have submitted a bold €85 million bid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, aiming to beat Premier League clubs to his signature. The move signals strong intent from the Turin club, despite internal resistance from Napoli over a domestic transfer.
According to Soccernet.ng, the Serie A champions are determined to secure the services of the 26-year-old, who has just wrapped up a successful loan spell with Galatasaray. During his time in Turkey, Osimhen netted 33 goals and contributed seven assists across 37 appearances.
However, Napoli’s stance remains firm. The club’s CEO, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is unwilling to sanction a move to another Italian team. Osimhen’s contract includes a €75 million release clause, but it is valid only for clubs outside Italy, making the Juventus offer both defiant and complicated.
Juventus’ Director of Football, Cristiano Giuntoli—who initially brought Osimhen to Napoli—appears to be playing a crucial role in reigniting the relationship, leveraging his history with the forward to push the deal.
Despite the impressive bid, Osimhen’s preference seems to lie elsewhere. English giants Chelsea and Manchester United remain in pursuit, and the striker has made his intentions clear: “My next club will be in the English Premier League.”
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to meet the release clause, while Manchester United are currently weighing alternative, lower-cost options due to concerns over wage demands. Interest from Saudi Arabia also persists, but Osimhen’s EPL ambitions could rule those clubs out.
