Netflix has released the first look at its upcoming horror remake of Frankenstein, led by Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and directed by Guillermo del Toro. According to a report published by Digital Spy, the new adaptation is scheduled for release in November and promises a grim take on Mary Shelley’s legendary novel.

In the teaser, viewers are introduced to Victor’s eerie narration as he recounts the consequences of his ambition. “In seeking life, I created death,” he confesses, offering a chilling summary of the story’s central tragedy. The teaser video, shared by Netflix on YouTube, sets the stage for a dark, visually rich sci-fi horror that pits science against morality.

Del Toro’s version features Jacob Elordi as the creature, whose immense strength is revealed in brief but intense scenes, including a battle with villagers. Dressed in a ragged robe, Elordi’s portrayal appears both fearsome and sorrowful—reinforcing the emotional depth of Shelley’s original monster.

Oscar Isaac’s Victor is seen stealing body parts and manipulating electricity in his desperate bid to reanimate the dead. His troubled voiceover paints a portrait of a man tormented by his choices: “Some of what I tell you is fact. Some is not. But it is all true.”

Mia Goth stars as Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor’s love interest, while the cast also includes Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, Charles Dance, Christoph Waltz, and David Bradley—further elevating the film’s anticipation.

With the teaser setting a grim and philosophical tone, Frankenstein is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most ambitious horror releases of the year.
