Adobe has officially released the Photoshop Android app as a free beta on the Google Play Store. The move follows its earlier rollout on iOS and brings the app’s advanced tools to Android for the first time.
According to Android Authority, all features in this Photoshop mobile beta are available at no cost for the duration of the trial period. Adobe has not provided a specific end date for the beta, but users can access the app and its full toolset free of charge during this phase.
Photoshop Android App Brings Full Desktop-Like Experience
The Adobe Photoshop beta includes essential tools like layers, masks, selections, and more. Tools designed specifically for mobile include Tap Select for removing or replacing elements and the Spot Healing Brush to clean up imperfections quickly.
Advanced selection tools such as Magic Wand and Object Select are also available, giving users more control over edits. Additionally, the app includes Remove and Clone Stamp functions to refine image details with precision.
One of the most powerful additions is the Generative Fill feature, powered by Adobe Firefly, which allows users to add or modify elements in photos using AI technology.
“If it’s your first time on the app, Adobe offers in-app tutorials that explain how to use layers, selections, and AI tools,” the company says.
Requirements and Future Access
The Photoshop Android app requires a device running Android 11 or newer with at least 6GB of RAM. Adobe recommends 8GB or more for optimal performance, especially when working with AI-driven tools.
While all features are currently free during the beta period, Adobe is expected to roll out premium subscription options after the trial concludes.
