A 69-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her home in north London. Jennifer Abbott, known professionally as Sarah Steinberg, was an award-winning director with ties to film stars, the Metropolitan Police said. She was discovered at her Camden residence on Friday evening.
Abbott was last seen three days earlier walking her corgi, which survived after being locked in a toilet for 72 hours. Neighbors shared that she once lived in Beverly Hills and had lost many belongings after moving to London. Police reported that a distinctive diamond-encrusted Rolex watch was missing from her home and may be connected to the case.
Her documentary, War of the Gods, received an award at the Swansea Bay Film Festival. The film explored how religion is sometimes used to justify conflict, according to IMDb. A post-mortem confirmed she died from sharp force trauma, and no arrests have been made so far.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart asked anyone who was in Camden on the day of the murder to come forward. He said, “Someone must have seen or heard something and no piece of information is too small.” Police continue to seek witnesses and any information that might help the investigation.
