Nollywood actor and content creator Odira Nwobu has survived a violent car crash that left his vehicle crushed and bystanders scrambling to help, NaijNaira can report.
Footage captured at the scene—first shared by Twitter user @ChuksEricE—shows chaos and urgency as witnesses rushed to rescue victims from the wreckage.
The accident occurred on Wednesday along the busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway and reportedly claimed multiple lives, per TheCable.
In the video, Nwobu is seen conscious but clearly in shock, bloodied and sitting by the roadside as people gathered around to offer immediate aid.
Eyewitnesses say the actor’s car was destroyed beyond recognition, with the front and side completely smashed from the impact.
Emergency responders transported Nwobu and other injured survivors to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
“He looked like he didn’t even know what happened,” one onlooker was heard saying in the background of the now-viral clip.
Odira Nwobu first entered the film industry after finishing secondary school, making a name for himself with his breakout role in Joseph The Dreamer.
His performance earned him a nomination for Best Comic Actor at the African Movie Academy Awards.
Over the years, he’s starred in popular titles like Home Alone, Class Mugu, Wayward Father, Goat Lover, and Family Saga.
He married his wife, Gifty, in 2021, and the couple welcomed their daughter in 2023.
