Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso no longer has access to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) platform for the 2027 presidential election, NaijNaira can report.
In a statement issued Saturday, NNPP National Chairman Dr. Agbo Major responded to claims made by Elder Buba Galadima, who had said that Kwankwaso would remain in the party and run for office under its banner.
Agbo firmly dismissed the assertion, saying both Kwankwaso and Galadima had been expelled from the party due to anti-party conduct.
“They no longer speak for us nor can they use our platform for any political contest,” Agbo said.
He added that their Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwankwasiya Movement, led by Kwankwaso, ended shortly after the 2023 elections.
According to him, the former presidential candidate caused turmoil within the party, including unauthorized legal battles and altering the party’s official logo to match his movement’s identity.
“It was the Court’s interventions that led to INEC changing back to our Logo,” he noted.
Agbo stated that Kwankwaso seems to expect another free ride, but that won’t happen.
“His ambition is dead on arrival,” he said bluntly.
He emphasized that NNPP would follow due process in selecting its 2027 flag bearer and urged Nigerians to ignore political statements made by Kwankwaso and his associates in NNPP’s name.
“NNPP has moved on and can’t be dragged into unnecessary controversies again,” he concluded.
