Vice President Kashim Shettima visited former President Muhammadu Buhari in London following concerns about Buhari’s health, NaijNaira can report.
President Bola Tinubu reportedly directed Shettima to check on the former leader after returning from Ethiopia. According to The Nation, the visit was prompted by sensitive information regarding Buhari’s condition, although his aide Bashir Ahmad dismissed rumors of a health crisis.
“The former President is unwell and receiving medical attention,” Ahmad clarified. “He’s stable, responding well to treatment, and expected to recover fully.”
Shettima traveled from Addis Ababa after attending Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative on the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. While there, he reviewed agricultural developments and regional partnerships.
Upon landing in London, Shettima went directly to Buhari’s residence and spent hours with him, delivering Tinubu’s personal wishes and prayers for a fast recovery.
The Vice President also visited former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, who’s currently recuperating in London. Gen. Abdulsalami, who transitioned Nigeria to civilian rule in 1999, is said to be in stable condition following medical treatment.
Presidential media aide Stanley Nkwocha said the trip was private and gave no official details.
