Lewis Hamilton clawed his way back into the points at the Belgian Grand Prix after a tough qualifying session sent him to the back — www.naijnaira.com reports.
Hamilton’s weekend started on the wrong foot as he failed to escape Q1, landing him at the bottom of the grid before race day.
RacingNews365 reported that Hamilton’s team made overnight modifications to his setup, forcing him to begin the race from the pit lane.
Due to a rolling start format, Hamilton managed to blend back into the race field despite the garage-origin launch.
Right out of the gate, he attacked with sharp overtakes and was the first to gamble on slick tyres — a call that paid off with points.
Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur commended Hamilton’s relentless approach, calling his early moves in wet conditions “quite aggressive.”
“He did a great job,” Vasseur said. “He was fighting Albon until the end with the car’s downforce where it is right now.”
Vasseur also acknowledged that while the recovery was impressive, better qualifying results are critical to contending for podiums.
“To get podiums or wins, you can’t afford to miss a session,” he said, emphasizing the need for full-weekend performance.
He added that the focus now shifts to improving early in the race weekend to avoid playing catch-up later.
Everyone inside the team, he said, is aligned and determined to take the next step forward by the upcoming race.
