Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, better known as KWAM 1, is in hot water after a confrontation with ValueJet Airlines at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport – www.naijnaira.com reports.

Witnesses say the 65-year-old blocked an aircraft’s movement after being denied boarding for carrying a liquid container above the 100ml limit.

ValueJet alleged he ignored repeated instructions, opened the flask, and splashed its contents on the pilot and others.

Captain Oluranti Ogoyi then powered up the aircraft while Ayinde and staff were nearby, a breach that cost her and co-pilot Ivan Oloba their licences.

The NCAA placed Ayinde on a six-month domestic and international no-fly list as investigations continue.

Ayinde apologised publicly but claimed the flask contained water for medical reasons, not alcohol.

Authorities insist celebrity status will not shield offenders, citing laws that allow up to two years’ imprisonment for obstructing aircraft.
