Tajudeen Abbas, the representative of Zaria Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has revealed why he was chosen as the consensus candidate for the Speaker of the 10th National Assembly.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) nominated Abbas and Kalu for the principal positions, and after a closed-door meeting of the Joint Task-10th Assembly, Abbas addressed journalists and stated that the APC leadership chose him based on his competence.
He expressed his happiness and inspiration to be chosen as the next speaker by the ruling party.
Abbas also mentioned that efforts were being made to reconcile with other aspirants who are aggrieved with the alleged imposition of candidates by the APC.
He assured that they will continue reaching out to all of them and ask them to come on board so that they can work for the good of the institution.
Abbas plans to declare his 16-point agenda for the 10th House next week, which will outline all the areas they will work on in the 10th Assembly.
He invited journalists to attend the declaration and learn more about their plans for the members and the country.
