AC Milan secured a crucial 3-2 victory over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Milan’s coach, Paulo Fonseca, made six changes to the team that drew with Juventus in the weekend, dropping Rafael Leao for Noah Okafor.
The game started brightly for Milan, with Christian Pulisic scoring in the 20th minute after great play from Tammy Abraham.
However, Milan was caught on a counterattack, and Tigran Barseghyan leveled the score for Bratislava.
Despite a dominant first half, Milan struggled to create more chances, with Slovan nearly capitalizing on a defensive lapse, only for Strahinja Pavlovic to block a key shot.
In the second half, Fonseca’s decision to bring on Leao paid off as he scored early to restore Milan’s lead.
Minutes later, Abraham extended the advantage after a defensive error from Bratislava.
The hosts made it a tense finish with an 88th-minute strike from Nino Marcelli, but a red card for Bratislava eased Milan’s nerves.
The win moves Milan closer to qualifying for the next round of the competition.
