Air Peace Chairman and CEO, Allen Onyema, has offered to evacuate Nigerians stranded in Sudan free of charge.
Onyema expressed his concern for Nigerian students and others stranded in the war-torn country, stating that they need urgent assistance.
He also acknowledged that Nigeria cannot afford to lose its citizens in that country.
As Sudan’s airspace is closed from civil aviation flights, Onyema suggested that if the Nigerians can be moved to a neighbouring country, the airline would fly there and evacuate them.
He emphasized that urgent action is required, and everything should not be left to the government alone.
Air Peace had previously deployed flights to evacuate Nigerians in South Africa in 2019 when xenophobic attacks threatened the lives of Nigerians in that country.
Onyema expressed his willingness to evacuate Nigerians from any country where they may be stranded, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to promoting national pride, national cohesion, peace, and unity.
