As the inauguration day of May 29 approached, Aisha Buhari, the outgoing First Lady of Nigeria, took her successor, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, on a tour of the Aso presidential villa where the incoming first family will reside for the next four years.
The purpose of the tour was to familiarize the Tinubu family with the official residence of the Presidential family in the Aso Rock Villa.
During the tour, Aisha and Remi visited some strategic areas of the villa, including the Glass House, which is specifically meant for presidents during a transition period.
Journalists were not allowed access to some parts of the building during the tour.
Aisha explained that the highly secured residential area of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is strictly to serve as an accommodation for the President and members of the family.
She also mentioned that the Glass House is a transit accommodation for outgoing presidents to pave the way for necessary renovations on the main house for the incoming president and his family.
Tinubu expressed her appreciation to the first lady for the warm reception accorded her and promised to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Nigerians.
