French World Cup-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante has signed a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad on a free transfer from Chelsea.
Kante, who won numerous titles during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, including the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Europa League, will officially join Nuno Espirito Santo’s side when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the month.
Despite Chelsea’s initial interest in extending Kante’s contract, the two parties could not reach an agreement, leading to Al-Ittihad’s pursuit of the midfielder.
Kante’s addition to the Saudi club is considered one of the most high-profile and impactful signings in their history, as they aim to establish themselves as a top choice for world-class players in the Saudi Professional League.
