Could Cristiano Ronaldo be back in the Premier League? A new report claims that Ronaldo’s loan deal with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr could soon be sending him to Newcastle United if the Magpies qualify for Champions League football for the 2023-24 season.
This potential move comes after a takeover of Newcastle by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund was completed in October 2021, and their subsequent investment in players have moved them from relegation spots to being within reach of Europe’s premier club competition.
The clause in Ronaldo’s loan contract is reported to allow him to join Eddie Howe’s Newcastle on loan if they secure a top four finish, allowing Ronaldo another crack at Champions League glory.
If this proves true, then it won’t be long before we’ll see the Portuguese icon making a return to English shores, as his medical with Al-Nassr is set for January 5th.
