On Sunday, former Swansea City star Andre Ayew parted ways with Al Sadd in Qatar after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract.
Before confirming his exit from the club, he took to Instagram to pay tribute to Xavi and others who helped him during his time there.
The 33-year-old thanked the coaches and management of Al Sadd for their unwavering belief in him, thanking Juanma Lillo and Xavi specifically for bringing him there.
He spoke of the impact the team has made on the club due to hard work, mentioning the numerous successes during his time at Al Sadd, including winning both Qatar Stars League and Qatar FA Cup (Emir Cup).
Reports have emerged that Ayew is keen on a return to Europe, with Marseille said to be interested in resigning him.
