Arsenal and Manchester United have been warned that signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen, two players on top of their respective transfer wishlists, would amount to a staggering £250million.
The Gunners were expecting to acquire Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk as a possible alternative, yet Chelsea swooped in and sealed the deal instead.
Meanwhile, United may be looking for a long-term striker option to replace Cristiano Ronaldo – with the hope of bringing in Osimhen in the summer window – however, Don Hutchinson has jested that Napoli could demand £125m for each of the two star men.
Former Liverpool midfielder Hutchinson mocked Chelsea for their £88m move for Mudryk by tweeting:
“Napoli fans watching Mudryk go for a 100million to Chelsea when they have two players in Kvara and Osimen who between them must be worth 250 million…”
He also warned United that if they are serious about competing up top with other English clubs again, they should consider spending big (£150m) on the Nigerian striker: “The lad is world-class. He plays the game like no other centre-forward.
“If Napoli win the league he could stay there. No, because they haven’t got the money. Maybe in the summer.
“That’s the sort of player that if they are serious, if they want to win the league again, that’s the sort of player they should be spending £150m on.”
