Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus is ‘not far’ from returning to Arsenal, with the Brazilian striker doing some training with the squad and showing signs of improvement.
When asked about an update on Jesus, as well as midfielders Jorginho’s health and Eddie Nketiah’s condition, Arteta explained that Jorginho had an illness but was now fit for Saturday’s game against Bournemouth.
He also revealed that despite the injury being long-term, it wasn’t too bad and the team had supported him through it.
Regarding Nketiah, Arteta said that they were still assessing his situation and it was uncertain whether he would be available this weekend.
There is hope for Jesus to make a return before the international break for the second leg of their Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon.
