Arsenal is intensifying their search for a striker in this summer’s transfer window, with recent reports linking them to Girona’s Artem Dovbyk.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian joined Girona for £6.5 million last year and has swiftly become a topic of transfer discussions after an impressive season in La Liga, contributing to 35 goals (25 goals and 10 assists) in just 41 appearances.
According to reports, Arsenal, along with Atletico Madrid and Napoli, are showing interest in Dovbyk.
Earlier, Chelsea was also linked but their interest has cooled.
Girona is aware of the attention and will only consider offers close to Dovbyk’s release clause, currently set between €40-50 million.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Dovbyk comes amid difficulties in securing their initial transfer targets, such as Joshua Zirkzee (AC Milan) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig).
With those options becoming less feasible, Arsenal sees Dovbyk as an attractive alternative, especially given reports suggesting Napoli’s Victor Osimhen could cost over £100 million.
Dovbyk’s career path includes an unsuccessful stint at Midtjylland before his breakthrough in Spain.
He has 28 caps and ten goals for the Ukrainian national team and is currently competing at the European Championships in Germany.
