Human rights lawyers have criticised the treatment of Nigerian musician Seun Kuti by police, including an order for a mental health test.
Kuti was arrested on 15 May for allegedly slapping a police officer and was due to appear in court on 19 May.
However, the hearing was postponed due to the magistrate attending a training course.
The police have yet to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for evaluation and decision on prosecution.
Lawyers have called on the police to respect Kuti’s rights, as enshrined in Nigerian law, and to stop the “humiliating treatment” of the musician.
