Ademola Lookman’s summer drama at Atalanta may have stirred rumors of a possible exit, but the forward never openly declared he wanted to leave — www.naijnaira.com reports.
Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Sport that comparing Lookman’s situation with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic would be misleading.
Di Marzio, in comments carried by Inter News24, said: “Lookman is a different case from Vlahovic. One wanted to leave, had an agreement with another team, and there was a negotiation where no agreement was found. That created a difficult situation that has only recently been recomposed.”
He went further to explain that Lookman never expressed a desire to quit Atalanta, adding: “He must now reconquer Bergamo.”
The 27-year-old forward had been briefly excluded from Atalanta’s training group after talks with Inter Milan broke down, sparking uncertainty over his role in the squad.
Unlike Vlahovic, whose transfer saga with Juventus caused a public standoff, Lookman’s dispute was described as less confrontational and quickly stabilized by Atalanta’s leadership.
Since joining from RB Leipzig, Lookman has played an important part in Atalanta’s attacking setup and continues to be valued by Gian Piero Gasperini.
He returned to the pitch last weekend and featured in Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Torino, marking a steady return to regular action in Serie A.
