Atiku Abubakar has pledged that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will bring meaningful change to Nigerians through a united opposition front, NaijNaira can report.
He made the statement after meeting with Gombe stakeholders, led by former minister and senator, Idris Abdullahi, according to Daily Post.
Atiku, who has remained vocal in criticizing the current All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration, stated that it’s time to end the suffering caused by mismanagement.
“Yesterday, I vowed to stand against the stealing of elections and oppose bad governance,” Atiku said on X.
He stressed that Nigerians should no longer struggle in a country rich in natural and human resources.
Atiku believes the ADC-led coalition holds the potential to rebuild trust in leadership and deliver practical solutions.
He said, “The coalition of opposition leaders under the umbrella of the ADC would work assiduously to usher in a positive change that will transform the lives of our people.”
He pointed out that the interim leadership of the ADC is proof of a fresh start based on transparency and responsibility.
“The quality of the interim leadership shows that we are ready to bring integrity to the process and give Nigerians the responsible leadership they deserve,” he added.
Atiku expressed gratitude for the full support he received from Gombe stakeholders, describing it as a strong sign of unity.
“I am further inspired by the Gombe stakeholders’ pledge of total support and loyalty to the decision of the coalition by joining the ADC,” he said.
He recalled that his political groundwork in 2003 helped elect Danjuma Goje, laying a developmental foundation for Gombe.
