Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has received the academic records of President Bola Tinubu from Chicago State University (CSU) in the United States.
The release of the documents was in compliance with a court order from the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois.
The court ruled in favour of Atiku’s application and ordered CSU to produce all relevant and non-privileged documents.
However, CSU stated that they could not locate a copy of the original diploma issued to Tinubu in 1979.
Atiku intends to use the CSU academic record in his appeal at the Supreme Court, where he is challenging Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.
Tinubu’s legal team has argued that the documents would be of no use in the Supreme Court.
