Bayern Munich’s Sports Director, Hasan Salihamidzic, has refrained from commenting on the potential signing of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, from Napoli.
The German champions have been linked with Osimhen in recent weeks as they search for a reliable striker following the departure of Robert Lewandowski last summer.
Despite experimenting with a false nine and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Bayern Munich’s performance has been lackluster, and their exit from the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday highlighted their need for a top striker.
Salihamidzic stated that he would not discuss names at the moment, but would consider the coach’s plans, financial implications, and personnel involved before making any decisions.
Speaking after their 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Wednesday, Salihamidzic said: “I will not discuss names now. However, we will see what the coach has in mind, who is involved, what are the financial implications, then we can see the possibilities.”
Napoli is reportedly demanding €120 million for Osimhen, a significant financial commitment for the traditionally frugal German side.
Osimhen has scored an impressive 26 goals in 31 games this season, making him a highly sought-after player.
