Mauricio Pochettino has been confirmed as the new manager of Chelsea on a three-year deal, replacing Frank Lampard, who is currently in interim charge.
Pochettino, who previously managed Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, will start working at Stamford Bridge after the current season ends.
He will be joined by his assistant coach, Jesus Perez, who worked with him at Tottenham and PSG.
Pochettino faces a challenging task as Chelsea has had a disappointing season and is set to finish in the bottom 10 of the league.
He will be given funds to strengthen the squad but will also have to axe some players.
Pochettino’s ability to develop young players was a key factor in his appointment, as the new owners have a long-term plan that includes young talents such as Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez, Noni Madueke, Wesley Fofana, and Benoit Badiashile.
