Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has shrugged off all rumours of a possible rift between himself and incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
At a campaign rally in Lafia, Nasarawa state on Saturday, Tinubu praised the president for being a strong advocate for constitutional democracy and likened him to US President Abraham Lincoln.
He went on to say that if it were not for the guidelines of democratic governance, he would have asked the President to stay in power.
The former Governor of Lagos State also assured those present that his friendship and relationship with Mr Buhari was very much intact, despite any speculations from close allies such as Kaduna’s El-Rufai and Kano’s Umar Ganduje.
The president also took part in the rally and declared his ongoing commitment in campaigning for Tinubu throughout the evenutal presidential election on February 25th.
He expressed confidence that Tinubu will do his best to serve Nigeria should he be successful in defeating his opponents.
