Chelsea is clearing the decks this summer and two players eligible for the Super Eagles are expected to move on – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to report, Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka are both on the list of players heading out as Chelsea reshapes its roster.
Ugochukwu, 21, joined from Rennes in 2023 but hasn’t locked down regular minutes and is now close to sealing a permanent move to Burnley after a loan spell at Southampton.
“Burnley offers him a direct path to first-team football,” a source familiar with the deal said, with manager Scott Parker keen on the midfielder.
Chukwuemeka, also in line to leave, has drawn serious interest from Borussia Dortmund, who are reportedly finalizing talks to bring him in permanently.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who was born in Austria to Nigerian parents and raised in England, still qualifies to play for Nigeria.
Though both players have ties to Nigeria, neither has taken steps to switch allegiance or committed to the Super Eagles.
Ugochukwu has represented France at youth level, and his uncle, Onyekachi Apam, previously played for Nigeria.
Chukwuemeka has suited up for England’s youth teams but remains eligible for Nigeria if the opportunity arises.
