The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a public alert, warning Nigerians to avoid doing business with three unregistered companies that are using fake incorporation documents and forged RC numbers, NaijNaira can report.
According to The Nation, these companies—SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd, UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd, and PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd—have each presented two different RC numbers that are not recognized in CAC’s official records.
CAC stated, “Anyone that transacts any business with the above-mentioned companies does so at their own risk.”
The companies listed are allegedly presenting fraudulent registration details to deceive unsuspecting investors and partners.
SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd is using RC Numbers 1265884 and 512862, UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd is using 1265837 and 553220, while PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd claims 1265844 and 545901.
The CAC urged Nigerians to confirm any business entity’s registration on its official verification portal.
The commission also announced the launch of an AI-driven business registration platform on July 3, offering automated name suggestions and same-day registration with NIN.
Additionally, CAC plans to adjust its service fees starting August 1, aiming for better access and efficiency for Nigerian entrepreneurs.
