Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has firmly denied claims that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), NaijNaira can report.
The rumour surfaced on July 5, stating that Zulum was allegedly among six governors plotting to defect to the ADC.
In a response posted on his verified X account, Zulum dismissed the speculation as false and politically motivated.
“This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors,” he said, describing the rumour as “fictitious and mischievous.”
He said those pushing the story are desperate individuals who have not added any value to Borno State or the country.
Zulum maintained that his commitment to the APC is not in question, calling his loyalty “sacrosanct.”
He urged the public and the media to verify stories from official and trustworthy sources instead of relying on unverified online chatter.
“My loyalty to the APC remains firm, and my dedication is solely to the welfare and progress of Borno State,” he stated.
The governor emphasized that his administration remains focused on rebuilding the state and not on “cheap politics.”
He warned that those spreading falsehoods were trying to stir up unnecessary political tension for selfish reasons.
Zulum concluded by reaffirming his government’s dedication to serving the people under the APC.
