Chelsea have begun their search for a permanent successor to Graham Potter and have contacted Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.
The club aims to interview up to five candidates for the head coach position and has drawn up a list of names to work through.
Nagelsmann and Enrique are currently at the top of the list, with reports suggesting that Nagelsmann may wait until the summer to take the job, while Enrique could be available immediately.
Mauricio Pochettino, Oliver Glasner, Luciano Spalletti, and Ruben Amorim are also under consideration.
Chelsea’s former manager Carlo Ancelotti has been mentioned, but it is unclear if he is currently in the running.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley are leading the process, with no timescale on Chelsea’s search.
Nagelsmann and Enrique both fit the bill, with Nagelsmann having been sacked by Bayern Munich and known to Stewart and Chelsea technical director Christopher Viviell.
Enrique has managed Barcelona, Roma, Celta Viga, and most recently the Spanish national team.
Pochettino ticks a number of boxes for Chelsea, but there may be some Blues fans who are wary about the prospect of the club hiring an ex-Spurs manager.
The decision to sack Potter was recommended by Winstanley and Stewart after the defeat to Aston Villa.
Potter’s assistant Bruno Saltor has been made acting head coach, but Chelsea feel the players will motivate themselves for the Real Madrid Champions League quarter-final tie.
Amorim has claimed he will only leave Sporting if a club pays the release clause in his contract, which is thought to be around £10m.
