Chelsea are looking to sign Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix for the rest of the season.

The deal will either be on loan with an option or obligation to buy in the summer based on how much money Atletico are looking to get for Félix.

Graham Potter is also after a center-back, which could end up being Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile who will cost more than £30 million.

Chelsea have their eyes on other players like RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol but he has been scouted by other European clubs as well.

Aside from signings, Potter has warned about attempted home robberies and believes these incidents have become an occupational hazard for premiership players due to the world we live in.

Sterling experienced one such robbery, forcing him to fly back during the World Cup and Potter noted that this isn’t the first time such an incident happened with some of his club players.

Lastly, while Sterling is Chelsea’s top scorer this season and can play in many different positions, he hasn’t been able to reach his highest performance levels yet and Potter stated that he has never asked Sterling to serve as a wing-back defensively.

“He has come in to a new team that has lost some key players over the summer, brought some new ones in, and then the manager has changed so the team from a functioning perspective has not functioned as well as I think it can,” said Potter.

“Him and all the players have suffered from that. It would be wrong of me to say that Raheem has been at the absolute top of his game but he is not the only one.

“It is my responsibility to help the team function better so that he can play better because he has got quality and is a top player.”
