Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila Set to Resign

According to reports, Femi Gbajabiamila, the new Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, is set to resign from his position as a lawmaker in the House of Representatives.

He is expected to tender his resignation on Wednesday, June 14, and focus solely on his new role.

This news also means that the Surulere 1 federal constituency will be vacant, and the Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct a fresh election to determine who will take over the empty seat.

Gbajabiamila has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2003 and has been one of the longest-serving members in Nigeria’s democracy.

He is also highly revered as one of the political juggernauts in Lagos state and a role model to young aspiring politicians.
