DSS confirm plot to install interim Government, scuttle handover to Tinubu

An anonymous All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain has alleged that the ongoing crisis in the party is due to the struggle for ministerial slots in the Bola Tinubu administration.

According to the chieftain, the suspensions of party members in several states are a result of the power struggle.

In Delta State, the governorship candidate of APC, Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Chairman of the NDDC, Lauretta Onochi, were suspended.

Meanwhile, in Abia State, seven chieftains, including former governor Dr Chris Akomas and former Minister of State for Solid Minerals Dr Uche Ogah, were also suspended for alleged anti-party activities.

The APC chieftain who spoke with the Sunday Telegraph stated that party members are fighting for ministerial positions even though the party has not formed the government yet.

He advised the President-elect to consider merit and competence in appointing ministerial nominees and to look beyond those who were governorship candidates in the last elections.

The chieftain further added that party members should focus on the state of the party and the President-elect rather than their own personal interests.

The ongoing crisis in the APC has been a cause for concern, especially as the party is still challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party in some states.
