The Football Association (FA) has officially announced the dates and kick-off times for this season’s FA Cup semi-finals.
Both matches will take place at Wembley Stadium next month.
In a surprising move, Manchester United’s game against Coventry City has been rescheduled due to concerns raised by the Metropolitan Police.
The first semi-final will see Manchester City facing off against Chelsea at 5:15 pm on Saturday, April 20th. The following day, April 21st, Manchester United will take on Coventry at 3:30 pm.
The FA initially requested a 4 pm kick-off time, but after discussions with the police, it was agreed to move the match earlier.
According to the Daily Mail, the police considered the match to be “high-risk,” leading to the change in kick-off time.
This decision has left both the FA and broadcasters frustrated, as later kick-offs typically attract larger television audiences.
