Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi State, on Saturday, said that the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, sees the presidency as a lifetime entitlement.
The former federal lawmaker said the reason the former Lagos State governor is eyeing the presidency is that he sees it as a retirement benefit for supporting the current President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to be the nation’s leader in 2015.
Melaye was responding to a recent comment made by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo.
Keyamo had said the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has no experience to govern the country.
He added that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, is more experience than the former Vice-president.
Melaye then described the Minister’s comment as “shameful, very embarrassing and a disgrace”.
