Dr Kamoru Kadiri has been appointed as the fifth Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa in Kwara State by the Federal Government.
The appointment was announced on Monday, 15 months after the fourth rector, Dr Lateef Olatunji, completed his tenure.
According to a statement by the Director of Information, Public Relations & Protocols of the Polytechnic, Mr Olayinka Iroye, the appointment was made by President Muhammadu Buhari and the appointment letter was personally handed over to Kadiri by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.
Kadiri, who was born on July 8, 1968 in Osogbo, is a registered engineer and has two patented inventions and 11 literary works with the Copyright Commission of Nigeria.
He has won research grants twice from Tertiary Education Trust Fund and Clintonel Innovation Centre.
Before his appointment as rector, he was the Director of Affiliate Degree Programmes and Industrial Collaborations and was later appointed as Acting Rector of The Polytechnic Iresi, Osun State, on a one-year sabbatical in 2021.
