Easter: Govt announces free train ride from Lagos to Osogbo

Osun State Government has announced a free train ride for its indigenes who are willing to travel from Lagos to Osogbo during the Easter celebration.

This was made known in a statement by Malam Olawale Rasheed, the Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

According to the statement, the free train service will commence its journey from the Iddo-Terminus in Lagos by 10am on Thursday.

It will make stop-overs at designated train stations in Ogun and Oyo States to pick passengers.

The train is expected to arrive at the Nelson Mandela Park Train Station in Osogbo by 6p.m.

The return trip from Osogbo to Lagos will take place on Monday by 10a.m.

The Imole Free Train Service is designed to provide relief to citizens of the state travelling home to celebrate the Easter holiday with their loved ones.

This initiative by the state government is aimed at easing the financial burden of transportation on its citizens and also promoting unity and social cohesion among them.

The statement also urged citizens of Osun State to take advantage of this free train ride to visit their loved ones and enjoy the Easter celebration.
