Club Brugge have opened talks with Southampton for winger Samuel Edozie as they aim to strengthen their attack this summer, NaijNaira can report.
According to transfer specialist Sacha Tavolieri, the Belgian club sees Edozie as a replacement for Chemsdine Talbi, who is close to joining Premier League side Sunderland.
Southampton, relegated from the Premier League after a poor run last season, are looking to reshape their squad and are reportedly willing to part ways with Edozie.
The 21-year-old, who is eligible to represent Nigeria, remains on the radar of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle as he prepares his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
“Edozie has big potential and deserves more regular playing time,” a close source told Belgian media.
Born in London, Edozie came through Manchester City’s academy before playing for England at U19 level and later appearing at the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
He already has experience in Belgium, having spent last season on loan at Anderlecht.
During his time in the Jupiler Pro League, he made 23 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
He also featured in five Europa League games, where he scored once and added one assist, showcasing his pace and ability in European matches.
Edozie joined Southampton in September 2022 and still has two years left on his contract.
His next move could prove pivotal as clubs circle and his national team prospects continue to grow.
