In a surprising move, Elon Musk has merged Twitter with another company X Corp, which is set to become the parent company for all of his ventures, including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company.
This merger has been seen as a step towards Musk’s vision of turning Twitter into an “everything app”.
The merger was revealed in a court filing related to a lawsuit involving Laura Loomer.
The filing stated that “Twitter, Inc. has been merged into X Corp. and no longer exists.”
Musk confirmed the change with a tweet simply stating “X”.
While some experts have questioned whether Musk can succeed in turning Twitter into a super app, similar to China’s WeChat, Musk has expressed confidence that Twitter can be transformed into a platform where users can access all basic online services.
