Everton have today confirmed the appointment of former Burnley boss Sean Dyche as their new manager on a 2-and-a-half-year contract.

This comes as a result of Frank Lampard’s departure last week, after his team suffered a poor run of form which left Everton bottom of the Premier League table by goal difference and knocked out of both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively.

Several other names, such as Marcelo Bielsa and Carlos Corberan, were in the running for the job but Dyche has gotten it in the end.

Having started his managerial career with Watford in the Championship, Dyche then went on to spend almost a decade at Burnley, even helping them to an Europa League spot back in 2017 where they were ultimately eliminated by Olympiacos in the final qualifying round.

It’s now down to him to bring in new players during this January transfer window and steer Everton away from relegation danger.
