Arsenal travel to Everton this weekend and Mikel Arteta has some important decisions to make following the January transfer window.

Arsenal’s sporting director Edu Gaspar has secured three new players, with Leandro Trossard coming in from Brighton & Hove Albion and Poland international Jakub Kiwior joining from Spezia.

Then, on deadline day came a shock move as the Gunners spent £12million to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho.

Perhaps most importantly for this upcoming match, a number of players have departed since Arsenal’s last game against Manchester City last week.

Marquinhos, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Cedric Soares have gone out on loan to Norwich City, Crystal Palace and Fulham respectively.

Arteta can only choose a 20-man squad for Premier League fixtures and four first teamers will have to stay in London due to these changes.

Gabriel Jesus and Mohamed Elneny are already ruled out due to injury, so Matt Turner will take over as backup goalkeeper instead of Karl Hein.

Emile Smith Rowe is also a doubt with Thomas Partey potentially not fit enough despite playing part of the last match against City.

Finally, Reiss Nelson is fit again but it remains unconfirmed whether he will make the cut.

All things considered, it looks like Trossard, Kiwior and Jorginho could feature while Matt Smith would be called up if Partey doesn’t recover in time.
