Former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, has sadly passed away after an eight-year battle with cancer. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the news of her death on Saturday night, March 2.

Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni, a former Nigerian international, was known for her skills and contributions to the national team. Her death is a great loss to the football community and she will be deeply missed.

In 2019, Aluko-Olaseni bravely shared her battle with breast cancer, which was diagnosed in 2017 while she was playing for Rivers Angels.

She sought financial assistance for treatment and fought the illness with courage. Unfortunately, she has now succumbed to the disease at the reported age of 30.

The NFF expressed their sadness over the passing of the former shot-stopper and extended their thoughts and prayers to her family.

Many others, including former Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro, also sent their condolences and prayers.

The news of Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni’s death has left the football community in mourning.
