Liverpool will look to bounce back from the humiliation at the hands of Brentford when they take on Wolves in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to rotate his team and make a number of changes for this fixture, with new signing Cody Gakpo set to make his debut for the Reds.

Other players who have been suffering from minor injuries since the World Cup break are likely to get a run out; it’ll be interesting to see how Klopp sets up his side against Wolves in their opening game of the cup campaign.

As Caoimhin Kelleher comes in for his third appearance of the season replacing Alisson Becker in goal, Joe Gomez starts in place of James Milner who has been dealing with a thigh injury since the League Cup loss.

At centre-back, Ibrahima Konate keeps his spot post-World Cup, while Nat Phillips partners him up.

Andy Robertson also returns at left-back as Kostas Tsimikas makes waym and he captains the side in place of Virgil van Dijk who is given the night off after limping off against Brentford.

Finally, Joel Matip is an alternative centre-back option should the Reds need it.

All-change in midfield

Naby Keita is also set to make his first start of the season after being impressive off the bench in their last game, while Stefan Bajcetic gets another chance in the holding midfielder role.

Curtis Jones and Jordan Henderson could also return after missing their last match due to injury, with veteran midfielder James Milner available for selection if passed fit.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will keep his starting position in midfield after impressing over the festive period.

Gakpo handed debut as Doak starts

To shake things up for the FA Cup fourth round, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has appointed Cody Gakpo to start as team captain.

After being on the sidelines due to injury, Roberto Firmino will make a potential comeback, taking up his favored central striker position.

When it comes to the midfield, Ben Doak and Darwin Nunez are also set to make their first start with the Reds.

On the off chance that Firmino doesn’t pass his fitness test, Fabio Carvalho is an alternative option to start in attack, while Gakpo remains stationed in a central position.
