Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed its Fallout television series for a third season, while also confirming the second season will arrive in December 2025.
According to a report by Game developer news outlet Bethesda Softworks, the announcement came during Amazon’s recent upfront presentation. Season 2 will follow Lucy (Ella Purnell), The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), and Maximus (Aaron Moten) as they head to New Vegas, a familiar and much-loved setting from the 2010 video game Fallout: New Vegas.
The show’s creative team remains intact, with Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet returning as showrunners. Executive producers include Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham, working in collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks through Nolan and Joy’s Kilter Films.
Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television, Vernon Sanders, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the series:
“We are absolutely thrilled that [viewers] will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout.”
Since its debut on April 10, 2024, Fallout has garnered massive attention. The first season pulled in 65 million viewers within two weeks of release. This surge in interest also boosted the popularity of the video game franchise, with Fallout 4 leading sales charts across Europe and Fallout Shelter reaching daily revenues of $80,000.
With the shift to New Vegas in the upcoming season, fans can expect new developments in a setting already familiar to players of the franchise. Production is well underway, and Amazon has made it clear that the story of the wasteland is far from over.
