It’s 2025, and Nigerian rapper and activist Falz is still baffled that Nigerians are stuck shouting ‘Up-Nepa’ amid persistent power outages, NaijNaira can report.
Speaking in an interview with HipTV, Falz didn’t mince words as he slammed the country’s ongoing electricity crisis.
“It’s still wild. In 2025, we’re still dealing with up-nepa,” Falz said, sounding visibly disappointed.
The rapper also criticized Nigeria’s poor drainage system, adding, “Any small rainfall like this, we have to be swimming around. It’s shameful.”
Falz expressed deep concern about the mental state of many people in the entertainment scene, describing it as “mad.”
He said, “Everybody get small madness. E just dey different levels.”
Beyond social issues, Falz got personal as he shared the story of his heartbreak at a fancy dinner.
“I really so much like the girl… I thought we were on the same page, but apparently not,” he recalled with a laugh.
Falz opened up about the challenge of growing under the shadow of his father, famous lawyer Femi Falana.
“At first, people thought it was because of my dad, but eventually, I blew. Now when they see him, they say, ‘Falz’s dad.’”
