Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has shared a moving moment with his father, Adebayo Salami, after winning big at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
According to Punch Newspapers, Adebayo’s new drama series Seven Doors earned three major awards: Best Lead Actor (Femi Adebayo), Best Lead Actress (Chioma Chukwuka), and Best Score/Music (Tolu Obanro).
In a video posted on Facebook, Femi is seen kneeling before his father, who proudly held the trophies while offering prayers. The emotional exchange quickly gained attention online, drawing praise from fans for Femi’s public show of respect.
“Seven Doors may have triumphed at #AMVCA2025, but the true foundation of everything I am… is right here. Their sacrifices, their prayers, their love—without them, there is no me. This win is ours,” Adebayo said.
While most comments praised the family bond, a social media user under the name #OriretanHonour expressed concerns about Adebayo frequently casting his father in projects. The user suggested that it might affect the perception of his work.
Adebayo responded, defending his casting decisions and stating that quality should speak louder than hype. “Success doesn’t have to wear noise all the time,” he wrote. He described his father as “a living legend” and added, “When grace speaks, even silence trends.”
Seven Doors is a historical drama co-directed by Femi Adebayo, Adebayo Tijani, and Tope Adebayo. The series tells the story of King Adedunjoye, who must marry six additional wives to lift a generational curse, despite his devotion to his first wife, Amaka.
The video clip and message have continued to generate reactions across social media platforms, reinforcing the cultural value of family and gratitude in public life.
