Nollywood actor, producer, and director Kayode Peters is dead, NaijNaira can report.
His family confirmed the news in a statement on his official Instagram page. Peters died peacefully in Toronto, Canada, after battling an undisclosed illness for a long time.
The statement reads, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Kayode Peters Adewumi, who passed on peacefully this morning June 28, 2025 in Toronto, Canada.”
Peters, often affectionately called “KP”, was known not only for his work on screen but also for his generous spirit and deep connections with others in the entertainment industry.
“KP braved, challenged and conquered a long time illness until his last breath this morning,” the family added.
Peters rose to fame through his acclaimed work on Extended Family and became a household name with Flatmates, a hit comedy series from the early 2000s.
He also earned respect for his contributions to Nigerian stage plays, sitcoms, and TV drama.
The family has requested privacy as they grieve and make funeral arrangements. They promised to release more details soon.
