Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president, has endorsed Labour Party candidate Peter Obi for the 2023 general election.
In his New Year’s message, which was made public by his representative Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo referred to Obi as his mentee and praised him for having a better track record for office than all the other candidates.
According to Obasanjo, Peter Obi has an edge in understanding, knowledge and discipline that will be beneficial to Nigeria’s future.
Furthermore, with a running mate who is both young and accomplished in public and private life adds benefits to Obi’s candidacy.
