Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has expressed his willingness to play in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) for free.
In a recent interview with Elegbete TV, the 34-year-old stated that playing in the Nigerian league would be a great privilege before he ends his career.
However, he emphasized that security, coverage, and officiating must improve before he can make such a move.
Ighalo had previously played in the Nigerian leagues with Prime FC of Osun and Julius Berger of Lagos before moving to Europe in 2007.
He is currently a free agent after his contract with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal expired last month.
Other top-level Super Eagles players, such as Ahmed Musa, have also expressed their passion for playing in the NPFL.
